The Others

Mk 11:1-10

When Jesus and his disciples drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately on entering it, you will find a colt tethered on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone should say to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ reply, ‘The Master has need of it and will send it back here at once.’” So they went off and found a colt tethered at a gate outside on the street, and they untied it. Some of the bystanders said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” They answered them just as Jesus had told them to, and they permitted them to do it. So they brought the colt to Jesus and put their cloaks over it. And he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. Those preceding him as well as those following kept crying out: “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is to come! Hosanna in the highest!”

Is 50:4-7

The Lord GOD has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them. Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear; and I have not rebelled, have not turned back. I gave my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; my face I did not shield from buffets and spitting. The Lord GOD is my help, therefore I am not disgraced; I have set my face like flint, knowing that I shall not be put to shame.

My Reflections on Mk 11:1-10

1) Jesus just knows everything...

It doesn't stop to amaze me with the level of consciousness he had. He saw the colt in his mind before anyone was even in the city.

The implications of this are huge!

Can he see through time and space?

If you believe that the gospels were true - the answer is an obvious YES to me!

He knows the future but also he can expand his awareness in space and see things that are happening right now - even better he KNEW that no one has ever sat on this mule. So he saw/knew the past of this specific animal, which is beyond anything I could ever imagine - a level of clarity that is just letting me stay in awe.

2) His Humbleness

How can a man who is God himself & has all the power of the Father be so incredibly humble and ride on a mule... Although this question has probably been asked many times over and over again it is still awesome if you think about it for long enough. Unlimited power choosing a way of humbleness and humidity.

if that is not LOVE, FORGIVENESS; PERFECTION, and GRACE in its purest form then I don't know what is.

It is the role model we all should be striving for even though we never will reach it.

I can literally feel the warmth inside of me - the transformation power of God & Love when embracing the image of power humbling itself for us - just to show us the way to Love.

My Reflections on Is 50:4-7

The level of passion

It is nearly scary but still inspiring me to the very core - what type of faith is displayed in this paragraph.

It is the symbol of complete surrender, giving up yourself for the ultimate SELF the big ruler of everything.

A devotion that demands my highest form of respect and deepest admiration

If I could just have a tiny piece of this faith - I'd never fear a thing in my life again.

The only respect and grace he needs is in front of his Father...

It is so inspiring for me to read about a person like that for I still care way too much about the respect and validation of my earthly companions.

That weakens my soul.

It leaves me empty when the validation & respect is withdrawn.

It manipulates me.

It owns parts of me & I know deep inside that I need to surrender that to God & trust in him & only him - but I struggle, that is why passages like this are so inspiring for me at the moment.

I hope you could take something from my thoughts and reflections. I'm not a priest or even an educated person on the bible - but I just authentically want to share my learnings but also inner fights with the scripture because even if only one person can relate it was worth it :)
